My Camera

Using a Canon Digital Rebel XSi 12.2 MP Digital SLR Camera. I LOVE this camera! It came with a 18-55mm lens, but recently I added a macro lens Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM Digital SLR Lens  for closeups. I’ve been able to get some really sharp close up photos of insect and flowers.

My most recent addition is this Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM Telephoto Zoom Lens. This is the lens I used to take the moon photos. I bought the camera and lens from Amazon.com.

A tripod is essential for close-ups and telephoto shots. I’ve tested a few tripods and actually bought one a Best Buy last week but it is too flimsy and I am afraid it will tip over. It did not have a wide enough base. I am returning it since I found this Quantaray QSX-9500 – Tripod at Ritz Camera. It is heavy duty with a wider base for stability.

Cool! I’m envious. I’d love one of those power houses. Sigh…maybe one day. In the meantime, I’ll enjoy your photography!

I’ve had a Sony Cyber Shot 4.1 Megapixels camera for the past 6 years. I really gave it a workout at home and at the office. I took a lot of the photos of products for my store Olive Barn with that Sony. I finally bought this new Canon last month. This camera is amazing.

Jackie, I’m looking at a new camera and appreciate this info! I’ve recently added a monopod to my collection and it has helped a great deal! But tripods offer the best stability. gail

Thanks for pointing me in this direction. I’ve had an XTi for a couple of years and I love it. But I could really use a macro lens. Thanks for the tip!

I have camera envy too! I already have an Olympus picked out, but I’m going to have to save my pennies. I’d like to be able to get some really professional looking shots for my business.
