After 6 weeks in it’s pupa stage and during a very cold January….this Monarch butterfly emerged today at 1:31pm. Fortunately, I had my video cam ready to film the big event.

Yay! Congratulations!
Somehow I missed this whole wonderful journey… until now. I just read all your previous posts about this. Absolutely fascinating. I look forward to your next update. I never cease to be amazed at the many wonders of nature.
Thank you. He was released Saturday and I’ll have an update about it today.
You were so lucky to be able to catch that on video. Really beautiful.
Thank you. It was wonderful to watch. Now I wish he would start feeding….. I placed him on a gerber daisy flower inside but he is still just resting. Maybe he’ll wake up today and get hungry. He has not eaten since January 3, 2011.
That was so amazing! So glad that you caught it on video.
