Two shots of the 84% of Full Waxing Gibbous at 8:40PM Central Time. One thing I could not pick up well was the planet very near the moon tonight, just to the lower right of the moon. Does anyone know which planet it is? Venus, Mars or perhaps Jupiter?
I just can’t stop looking at the craters and wondering what it must have been like there when they hit. Some of them look so large. I wonder how the moon survived the impact?

‘Old folks’ — the previous generation had many proponents of ‘planting by the moon.’ My MIL even noted when the signs were at the right place for having a tooth pulled, and such.
Hospital employees always note an increase in admissions and births around the full moon. My attorney brother notes more phone calls from agitated would-be clients at full of the moon as well.
You know, I’ve never really gotten into the growing by the phases of the moon. Probably because I’d needed a good (scientific) reason to do so. This might do it! Thanks.
I try to garden by the moon, but don’t often make it. The moon in your photos looks so beautiful. Nice to remember the importance of the moon in our gardens.
