She’s Peeking in the Garden and Passionflowers

Fountain Statue Girl Peeking
She’s peeking in the garden from underneath my redbud tree. I purchased her around five years ago, in hopes of incorporating her into a fountain display. I love fountains. There is one by my sister’s home that I stare at everytime I visit her. It is beautiful and a perfect size for a small courtyard garden. Notice the intricate detail. Reminds me of the fountain in one of my favorite movies, Under the Tuscan Sun.  I loved the messy gardens, that old Tuscany villa, and of course the fields of golden sunflowers. If you have not used the IMDB.COM database to look up your favorite movies, actors and actresses, you’ll find it quite resourceful. Helps tremendously with those trivia questions, like “What other movie did I see him in?”. Enjoy.

While working outside cleaning up the driveway today, I couldn’t resist taking a few photos of the Passionflowers. That purple one is so deliciously complex.

Passionflower Cluster

Doesn’t this looks like something out of an science fiction movie?

Hi Jacqueline, your photos are marvelous! What a beautiful blog you have! I tried to visit this blog through Blotanical but there is an error message. So I finally found it by going to your other blog. Perhaps you can figure out why that’s a problem…because this blog is too pretty to not get on the Blotanical feed–so more people can read it, and comment;-) Your passionflower is awesome!

Thank you. I have notified Blotanical about the error, we are still trying to find out exactly why it does not work. Hopefully Stuart will have that worked out very soon. So glad you visited.

They are beautiful flowers, but the vines can be a bit invasive here. I find little sprouts all over the garden, and they literally ate one of my crape myrtles (Lagerstroemia indica)
. Fortunately, they do die back completely in winter.
